Patient Care
Showing attention to special needs of the anxious patient.

  • Does the doctor and his staff truly appreciate my special needs as an individual and as an anxious patient?

  • How am I to be monitored if I am discharged home on the day of surgery?

  • How soon will my medical doctor hear about my evaluation?

  • What does Dr. Yarrington have to offer me as a breast care patient that any other General Surgeon doesn't provide?

  • Question : Does the doctor and his staff truly appreciate my special needs as an individual and as an anxious patient?
Answer : Absolutely. This will immediately dawn on you when you enter the Center and notice the non -clinical environment that has been created for you. From the waterfall fountain in the waiting area to the absence of a glass window between you and reception and to the oriental changing screens in the exam rooms, you'll know that we were thinking of you even before you arrived.
Question : How am I to be monitored if I am discharged home on the day of surgery?
Answer : We encourage everyone to arrange to have a family member or "advocate" to supervise their condition the first hours after discharge. We frequently contact patients or their representatives on the late afternoon following the procedure for a status report. If your condition or situation requires it, we will arrange for a visit from a home health service.
Question : How soon will my medical doctor hear about my evaluation?
Answer : The center is operating on the the crest of the computer age. We provide for a "STAT FAX" report ,when appropriate ,to your doctor the day that you are seen and thanks to the bonus of voice recognition computer transcription, the final report will follow in short order and be electronically transmitted avoiding the delay of the mail system.
Question : What does Dr. Yarrington have to offer me as a breast care patient that any other General Surgeon doesn't provide?
Answer : First is the obvious answer. That is ,"over thirty years of experience in dealing with conditions of the breast." Add to that the fact that he has now chosen to devote essentially his full attention to this type of care, focusing his continuing education efforts on the many seminars and mini-courses dealing with breast issues. By establishing a practice that reflects this type of dedication, he is providing the setting for you to have access to the most current and meticulous care, rendered in your home town by a physician with a well known reputation for compassion and respect for his patients.
Ask yourself, can a traditional broader based surgical practice provide for this type of "focused attention" for your breast problem?
